The LG G Pad 8.3 hasn't been out for long and, as a matter of fact, it has barely made it to some of the world’s most important markets with 20 more to be added soon.

Nevertheless, as things go in the world of tech, when a manufacturer launches a tablet, it is already thinking of its successor. That’s exactly how the story goes with LG. The company seems to be currently laying blue-prints for the G Pad’s successor.

The Korean giant has announced that it has started testing a mobile chipset dubbed Odin, claims website Digital Times. Apparently, the processor will become available in quad core and octa core flavors and will bundle Cortex A15 cores clocked at 2.2GHz on the main big.LITTE configuration.

Odin will turn out to be power efficient due to its four Cortex A15s working at 2.2GHz and four Cortex A7s clocked at 1.7GHz.

Reportedly, the quad-core Odin chip will end up being incorporated into the LG Smart TV, while the octa core will probably become the life force of the next-gen LG G Pad tablet.
