The new premium models will be better than the G series

Recently, we've told you that at MWC 2015 LG’s CEO Cho Juno personally revealed that the LG G4 wouldn’t be the only flagship smartphone coming out of the company in 2015.

Apparently, the device maker is prepping a brand new flagship series, which will be placed above the current LG G lineup. The company’s official mentioned that the mystery handset would be launched in the second half of 2015, but he wouldn’t reveal other details.

Naturally, all kinds of scenarios were thrown around, including one in which LG might be gearing up to unveil its own take on the Galaxy S6 Edge. After all, the device maker quietly showcased a dual-edged display smartphone on the grounds at CES 2015 back in January.

LG still eyeing premium phablets

However, it seems that this won’t be the case. A report coming out of the Korea Herald indicates that LG is looking to revitalize the phablet sector with a new offering (the G Pro series got discontinued).

Actually, the Korean company is gearing up to produce a competitor to Samsung’s super popular Galaxy Note 4 phablet which takes advantage of the S Pen.

According to sources familiar with the matter, in the second part of 2015, we should expect to see the company unveil the LG G4 Note.

The name was already proposed for trademarking ever since February 2014 and it appears the company has reached the final stages of production with the new device.

LG is placing high hopes that the new G4 Note will play a major part in helping the company achieve its goal of becoming world’s third handset manufacturer.

It’s quite interesting that rumors indicating that LG will unveil a phone with a stylus have been quite persistent as of late.

Did LG's new phablet just go through the FCC?

Yesterday, we told you that a 5.8-inch LG phablet with stylus had been spotted making an appearance at the FCC. It’s highly possible that it was the LG G4 Note, although yesterday we speculated the product might be the mid-range LG G4 Stylus.

LG launched the LG G3 Stylus last year, but the phone didn't achieve much success, probably because it came with pretty unimpressive specs, so LG might be dropping the line altogether this year, and focus on the premium G Note series instead.
