LG F70 has been spotted on the Indian official website of the handset maker with a pretty high price attached to it. Although LG did not unveil details on the exact release date of the F70 in India, we knew it shouldn’t take too long for the company to launch it.

And it looks like they did just that, as the smartphone is now available for purchase in the country via major retailer Infibeam. The good news is that the F70’s upfront price is lower than the one suggested by LG on its official website, but the bad news is that the smartphone is still overpriced.

Although LG confirmed that F70 should sell in India for Rs 19,500 ($325 / €240) outright, it looks like the smartphone has just gone on sale at Infibeam for only Rs 18,500 ($310 / €225).

That’s slightly lower than the initial suggested retail price, but LG F70 is still overpriced if we take into consideration everything it has to offer in terms of specs.

The Indian smartphone market is pretty competitive due to the huge amount of new Android devices that get released on a weekly basis by lots of native handset makers, such as Micromax, Lava Mobiles, Spice, Karbonn, iBall, and many others.

Apart from the fact that it comes with support for 4G LTE, which is not something customers in India would need from a mid-range smartphone, the F70 doesn’t offer anything that would justify the high price.

The good news is that LG F70 ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box, which might be its only real selling point.

For those unfamiliar with LG F70’s specs, here is a quick recap that should help you decide whether the handset is really worth that amount of money.

LG F70 is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit, and 1GB of RAM.

It also comes packed with only 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot. Owners will receive 50GB of free cloud storage via the Box app.

The device also sports a 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, as well as dual cameras (5-megapixel main camera and VGA front-facing camera).

Keep in mind that LG F70 does not offer dual-SIM capability, but it does come with FM Radio. It’s also powered by a decent 2440 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
