The handset will come with new technologies meant to leverage user experience

LG Electronics has recently unveiled officially the already spotted LG Arena (LG-KM900), its new flagship mobile phone for 2009. According to the company, the hew handset is a fully loaded multimedia handset that includes LG's dynamic 3D S-Class User Interface. In addition, the mobile phone maker plans to showcase the device at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, held on February 16 to 18 this year.

The manufacturer states that the 3D S-Class UI LG Arena has been developed so as to offer a funnier and more attractive way to the multimedia environment. There are four customizable home screens provided by a cube-based layout, delivering direct access to all features. The touch-based 3D menus offer easy access to music, movies, pictures and more.

“The direct, intuitive and dynamic S-Class UI will be unlike anything that has appeared on a mobile phone before. With rich 3D graphics, touch sensitivity and exciting multimedia capabilities, it will truly make ARENA a fully loaded multimedia phone,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

LG Arena (LG-KM900) delivers a 3-inch touch screen that can provide a 480 x 800 pixel resolution and support for 256k colors. Moreover, it comes with Email / SMS / MMS capabilities, as well as Java and support for GSM Tri-band, EDGE / UTMS. The handset measures 105.9 x 55.3 x 11.95 mm and weighs 105 grams.

The device will come with audio and video technologies that haven't been yet included in any other mobile phone. The company has put a lot of efforts into ensuring that the flagship device for 2009 is able to deliver a leveraged multimedia experience, thus including in the handset features enabled by Dolby and DivX technologies.

Besides multimedia, the new LG Arena (LG-KM900) will also sport Internet connectivity with HSDPA 7.2 networks, as well as Wi-Fi, A-GPS and far more capabilities. The mobile phone maker announced that all specifications and details about the Arena would be unveiled at the press conference it would hold during the MWC show.
