Intel’s WiDi seems to get a lot of support in the industry with LG being the latest company to announce the inclusion of this wireless video streaming technology in its products.

The Korean company recently said that its upcoming 2012 Cinema 3D Smart TV line-up, which is to be unveiled at CES 2012, will feature native support for this technology.

Thus, LG is joining Qualcomm which has already said that the new Snapdragon S4 SoC devices will feature native support for WiDi.

We are happy to see such an interest in WiDi, as the prospect of being able to connect our smartphones to the HDTV sans any cables will open up a wide range of applications for such a setup.

And I am not referring here only to media consumption or gaming, but also to some office tasks such as beaming presentations right to the HDTV or setting up a mini-office in a couple of seconds.

More details regarding LG’s Smart TVs will be uncovered at CES 2012 which opens its gates on January 10.
