South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics seems to plan on launching to the market in the early 2010 a handful of mobile phones that will feature touchscreen capabilities, as a recently spotted photo of the company's roadmap for the first quarter of next year shows. Moreover, the names that should stand out in the time frame, including Cookie2, Wine2 and Wine Junior, suggest that the recently announced New Chocolate handsets are not the only ones to follow an already popular lineup from the vendor.

The focus on touchscreen mobile phones is also showed by the other devices that appear in the image, including Wine Junior, LG Stage, Sweet, Goya and Mini. What's also interesting is the choice of name the upcoming handsets will have, since the Sweet, Cookie2 and Wine2 (and Chocolate) remind us very much of the names Google gave to its Android updates, Cupcake and Donut.

However, while the name of the touch-enabled handsets expected to come from LG during the first three months of the next year have emerged, there are little details on what the handset will actually include when it comes to the hardware parts and capabilities. Even so, the guys over at UnwiredView have some suggestions on what we might expect from those devices.

The actual successor of LG Wine should be Wine2, and it might come to the market with upgraded camera specs, new design, or better processor, while still maintaining some of the features that made the original Wine popular. The LG Stage might prove to be the follower of LG Arena, so it should also boast a series of high-end specifications, just as the currently available device does.

The LG Cookie 2 will come as the successor of Cookie KP500, undoubtedly, and should also include lower-end specs and a comparable price tag. LG Sweet, Mini and Goya seem rather strange in the image, though the last of them might prove to be the follower of LG Renoir. The position the handsets have in the photo shows which market segment they are aimed at, UnwiredView says, so you can make an idea of what they might sport too.
