L.A. Noire, the video game that was created by Team Bondi with help from Rockstar, has managed to retain its first place in the United Kingdom video game chart, fending off the challenge coming from Dirt 3, the rally racing game coming from indigenous developer and publisher Codemasters.

L.A. Noire has managed to impress both players and reviewers with its mix between almost old school adventure gameplay and its action elements in addition to using new technology to create more life-like characters that become the focus during the interrogation sequences.

Dirt 3 managed to take second place in its first week on sale, but it still has a chance to grab the first position next week as L.A. Noire slows down its sales pace.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean from Disney Interactive Studios takes the last place on the podium, after being second last week.

Zumba Fitness continues to do well in the United Kingdom and hangs on to its fourth place while Brink , the multiplayer-oriented shooter from Splash Damage and Bethesda, has fallen two places to fifth spot.

Wii Sports Resort from Nintendo for the Wii home console has made an impressive comeback to reach sixth position coming from thirteen.

FIFA 11 is still in the top ten in the United Kingdom, even if the attention of the series' fans should be turning towards FIFA 12, and even managed to go up one place to seventh coming from eight.

Crysis 2, the first-person shooter from Crytek and Electronic Arts, seems to be on its way out of the top ten, this week taking a rest in ninth position while Mario Kart Wii from Nintendo is closing down the UK chart.

Portal 2, the puzzle and action game from Valve, has exited the top ten after coming in seventh last week and Mortal Kombat has also lost the fight for the first ten positions.
