Team Bondi's demise doesn't mean an L.A. Noire 2 won't be made

Rockstar Games has confirmed that it’s always working on different projects and that a title like L.A. Noire 2 could appear at some point in time, after games like Max Payne 3 or Grand Theft Auto V are completed.

Rockstar helped Australian developer Team Bondi deploy L.A. Noire last year onto the PS3 or Xbox 360, and later to the PC. Sadly, due to debts and various other problems, the studio dismantled, meaning Rockstar now fully owns the intellectual property.

As such, many fans of the original L.A. Noire have started asking the company about a possible sequel and whether such a thing might appear now that Team Bondi is no longer active.

According to Rockstar, while it’s currently busy with other projects, a new L.A. Noire experience could arrive sooner or later.

"While there won't be any more DLC or additional content for the current release of L.A. Noire (we're all too busy working on Max Payne 3, GTAV and other games to come), don't count out the possibility of a new game in the L.A. Noire franchise in the future. We simply have not decided anything," the company said.

Rockstar added that its development process wasn’t exact, so it couldn’t say for sure when the L.A. Noire franchise might see a new iteration.

"We don't always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won't get to them eventually - see Max and Red Dead for evidence of that - we have so many games we want to make and the issue is always one of bandwidth and timing."

Rockstar already hinted at future projects after it’s finished with the upcoming Max Payne 3, saying that its Vancouver branch could start working on a sequel to Bully, one of its older games that appeared during the previous generation of consoles.

Until then, however, millions of fans are still waiting for more details about Grand Theft Auto V, which might finally arrive in the following months.
