Rockstar Games has surprised a lot of people by confirming that the recently released L.A. Noire is coming to the PC platform later this year.

L.A. Noire was released last month and went on to become another critically acclaimed title published by Rockstar, after being developed by Team Bondi, and released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

Now, it seems that Rockstar is trying to maximize the appeal of the game, and confirmed that it will be releasing L.A. Noire for the PC platform later this year.

While such a PC version was rumored a few months ago, before the release of the game, many thought Rockstar would once again pass on a PC version of the game, just like it did with last year's Red Dead Redemption, which appeared on consoles only.

"L.A. Noire is a new type of game that makes players see through a detective's eyes in 1940s Los Angeles," said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games. "Its unique blend of story, action and crime solving will be perfect to play on PC."

Rockstar Leeds is handling the porting process of L.A. Noire to the PC platform, and is set to include a wide array of customized features, including the ability to remap keyboard controls, support for gamepads, as well as upgrades to the performance or user experience.

The game will also have improved graphics and better visual features, and even support for 3D technology, in order to increase the immersion felt by players with the detailed 1940s Los Angeles environment.

We were extremely impressed by L.A. Noire in our own review, and praised it for its top notch gameplay and accurate graphics, largely with the help of the MotionScan technology, which allowed the game to display realistic faces on the characters in its story.

Expect a release date for L.A. Noire on the PC to be revealed in the following months.
