You might remember that the Seattle Police has reopened the inquiry into Kurt Cobain's death as a result of public pressure but also because it's been 20 years since the famous rocker committed suicide and it's believed that many things were overlooked in the initial investigation.

This week, as part of their ongoing investigation, the Seattle PD have released a hate note that Kurt Cobain carried in his wallet at the time of his death that proves the Nirvana singer and Love weren't on the best of terms and Cobain couldn't bring himself to forget her.

The note was found in the initial investigation by detectives handling the case, but it was never released until now and it shows that the two had a falling out that they never recovered from. At this point, it's unclear whether the famous singer managed to show the note to his wife before he committed suicide.

The note reads “Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your lawful shredded wife. even when she's a [expletive] with zits [acne] and siphoning all yr [your] money for doping and [prostitution]... ”

It suggests that the rocker was accusing Love of infidelities as well as drug addiction, not to mention mooching off him for money. The note was hand written on stationery from a San Francisco-area hotel which places Cobain in the city at the time the hate message was composed.

It's a very strange note simply because it conveys a very different message than the one that he left in his suicide note. In that note, he calls Love a “goddess of a wife” who “sweats ambition and empathy.”

This will only serve in later years to fuel already existing conspiracy theories that Courtney Love somehow played a part in Cobain's death. Love had better prepare for the wave of unfavorable public attention that will assault her in the coming days, following this discovery.

However, the final conclusion that the cold case detective assigned to revisit the case reached is the same as the one reached by the initial investigation: that Cobain committed suicide by shooting himself with a shotgun after he took a lethal dose of heroine.

Kurt had bought the shotgun and the shells himself, three days before killing himself. He took a cab into town in order to purchase the ammunition and told the store clerk that he had been burglarized.
