Mortal Kombat X has been confirmed for release on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, on April 14, 2015. Although developer NetherRealm Studios has already unveiled lots of details on their upcoming title, there's still a lot to learn about Mortal Kombat X.

The most important aspect to know about it would be the entire lineup of characters that will be implemented in Mortal Kombat X. Fans of the franchise are probably still disappointed that some of the iconic characters of the series were killed in the last Mortal Kombat title.

The good news is that some of them will be resurrected in Mortal Kombat X, but this is still a surprise for MK players, hence the developer's desire to offer as few details on them as possible.

However, it looks like Finnish video game magazine Pelaaja has the scoop on the next characters to appear in Mortal Kombat X. Kung Lao, a character who dies in the previous installment is now resurrected by developer NetherRealm Studios and will make a comeback in Mortal Kombat X.

According to a thread on TestYourMight forum, Kung Lao will be available in at least three variations, so depending on your fighting style, you may want to choose one or the other.

Obviously, his variations are dependent on the use of his hat: tempest, hat trick, and buzz saw. Each of these styles has its own advantages. For example, the Tempest style allows Kung Lao to use spin attacks more frequently. It also allows him to use the hat as a shield that flies around him.

The Buzz Saw style gives players more hat-throw attacks, while the Hat Trick enables Kung Lao to control his hat throws and even extend combos.

The online aspect will be improved over the previous installments in the series

The Finnish video game magazine also reveals some details on the online aspect of the game. For example, NetherRealm Studios confirmed that players would be able to choose their own alliance when they start a new game: Lin Kuei, White Lotus, Brotherhood of Shadows, Special Force, and Black Dragon.

Then, each player hoards “battle points” for their team, which decides how the game's menu looks in single and multiplayer modes.

Also, the game will feature an automatic update system similar to that of Injustice: Gods Among Us, which will allow for faster hotfixes in case of bugs and glitches.
