Cry as much as you might like, but Kristen Stewart is here to stay, and not only is she rocking the acting world with success, she's also branching out into fashion. With the help of her good friend Karl Lagerfeld, she's landed the job of the new face of the Chanel 2014 collection and she's just shot her first video for it.

The photo shoot has a distinctive American western feel to it, Texan to be exact, although several native American-Indian influences can be seen in the outfits and the makeup, not to mention the décor. Lagerfeld announced that he would be relying heavily on Americana for this year's collection and it seems he wasn't lying.

There is a lot of American-inspired imagery if you look carefully, like stars, spangles, and fringes. Through it all, Kristen's icy stare and blank face expression that have since become her trademarks, fixate the audience's eyes.

But despite seeming cool and calm on video and in the photos, Kristen revealed that she was positively star-struck throughout the entire shoot. She gushed about her friend Lagerfeld, saying that he's “one of the greatest artists of our time.”

She went on to describe her experience on the set: “The [photo shoot] was effortless and he's awesome and he's so sweet. The only intimidating thing about [Karl] really is that scary unapproachable facade which is something people project onto him I think.”

The video shows Stewart arriving in a hoodie and a beanie but getting transformed into a Chanel cowgirl with clothes and make-up. She then poses for the cameras dressed in a knit poncho with a toothpick in her mouth.

Of course, those who follow Chanel's exploits will remember that this entire American collection has already been previewed last December in Dallas, when Lagerfeld staged a fashion show to reveal it. At the time, Stewart was among one of the famous faces promoting the clothing line, along with other actors, such as Dakota Fanning.

It looks like Stewart is moving up in the fashion world; after having started out with representing Balenciaga, she's now moving into supermodel territory by becoming the face of a prestigious clothes brand like Chanel.

And she seems to be enjoying it. In the press release, she's quoted as saying that “This suits me because it is very American. Everything today was like breathing, it was so easy. Karl knew as soon as he saw what he wanted, it was like ‘done!’ It was effortless and he's awesome and so sweet.”

By the end, Lagerfeld and Stewart hug each other on a job well done and it looks like their collaboration is going to continue for the time being.
