14 DAY TRIAL // The waiting is finally over: “Breaking Dawn Part 1” may not be out in theaters worldwide just yet, but it's nearly here. The film premiered in Los Angeles the other night – and the two leading stars positively wowed on the red carpet.
Given the media attention everything Twilight generates, it's no wonder that most outlets are treating the red carpet ceremony for the LA premiere as they would an awards show of major importance.
Then again, the stars did the same, breaking out their best designer outfits for the occasion and rocking styles that would have made them look just as good at the Oscars.
No matter how hard the other members of the cast tried to attract attention, all eyes were on the film's leading couple: Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
Since they're so guarded about their personal life – and insanely mediated romance – the two hardly pose together willingly for photographers.
To these, last night's event was manna, but all the more so since they both looked stunning.
Kristen, more of a tomboy than she'd probably like to admit, was the very picture of elegance in a floor-length gown with a thigh-high slit.
The purple and black gown was by J. Mendel and featured a detail that certainly fans' keen eyes didn't miss: it was completely see-through in the front.
Kristen's makeup and hair were also looking impeccable: she went for the smoky eyes look, and had her dark mane pulled up in a loose 'do that softened her features.
Pattinson was dashing as always. Though he seemed to be slouching more than usual – presumably because he's that much taller than Kristen and didn't want to make her look bad in photos – he was his usual elegant self.
For the big night, the Brit went for a classic suit in a shade of dark blue than proved he had color-coordinated with Kristen, or the other way around.
He matched with a light blue shirt and a black tie. Add to that his trademark messy hairdo and you get the picture of effortless chic.
