The common conception about celebrities is that, once they sign on to fame, the media and the public owns them, it has often been said. This is also why stars feel somewhat of a compulsive need to talk about their private lives, show personal photos and, in short, make money off every little aspect of themselves. The same will not happen as far as Kristen Stewart is concerned though, the star herself says, as cited by Entertainment Weekly.

Speculation about whether she’s dating her “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson has been around for many months and, as we all know, has required lots of ink, and will probably continue to do so in the future. It’s precisely because people – and the fans of the franchise – are making such a big deal of it that Kristen will not openly address the topic. If no one had paid any attention to the rumor, she would have stepped forward herself to settle the matter, the star promises.

Since that didn’t happen, there’s no way she’s doing it now, especially since, by acting upon it, she would also open her life to even more speculation. Just because she is a celebrity does not mean she has to talk about her private stuff with the media, especially not when she knows for a fact there is literally nothing stopping the tabloids from running other stories on her, now that the romance rumors are put to rest. So, instead, Kristen chooses to send a big “Bite me!” to the entire world – only in less delicate terms.

“I probably would’ve answered it if people hadn’t made such a big deal about it. But I’m not going to give the fiending an answer. I know that people are really funny about ‘Well, you chose to be an actor, why don’t you just [expletive]-ing give your whole life away?! Can I have your firstborn child?’” Kristen says when asked about the romance rumors, getting, as EW puts it, “nicely fired up.”

“I’ve thought about this a lot,” she continues. “There’s no answer that’s not going to tip you one way or the other. Think about every hypothetical situation: ‘Okay, we are. We aren’t. […]’ I’m just trying to keep something. If people started asking me if I was dating Taylor, I’d be like ‘[Expletive] off!’ I would answer the exact same way,” Stewart further explains. One thing is for certain: fans hoping to get confirmation of a potential romance between Kristen and Robert will most likely not be getting it from Kristen herself.
