14 DAY TRIAL // Because he has what looks like a serious temper issue, few people would probably describe Kanye West as a “wonderful person” but that’s only because they don’t get to live in the same house as him, his future mother-in-law Kris Jenner says in a new interview.
Though reports would have it that the two didn’t exactly see eye to eye when he first started dating her daughter Kim Kardashian, according to a new interview with Kris, they’re family now – and they love each other as only family members can.
Speaking about Kanye’s recent Twitter meltdown because of a Jimmy Kimmel skit (that wasn’t even as offensive as he perceived it to be; in fact, it was quite innocent), Kris feels the need to defend the rapper.
“When someone lives down the hall, I see somebody who's – I love him so much,” she says in the interview cited by Us Weekly.
“He's such an amazing boyfriend to Kim and a great dad and a wonderful person,” she continues. Clearly, the people who read about him in the press or see his interviews on TV don’t get the chance to actually know how amazing he is.
That’s why Kris is also happy he accepted her invitation to appear on her talk show, which got a 6-episode trial run earlier this year and will, hopefully, be picked up for a full season this fall.
Kanye’s interview was the first he gave since his daughter with Kim, North West, was born.
“I got to sit down with him for an entire hour, and I think people saw this other side to him. He's creative and he's an amazing, amazing human being, he really is. And he doesn't always do interviews and get the chance to really express himself like that, so I was really glad that I got a chance to sit down and talk with him,” Kris gushes.
Indeed, Kanye’s interview with Kris was unlike any other he’d ever done before: he came across as really honest about his relationship with Kim and even teared up a couple of times when trying to explain how much he loved her and the family they had started together.
