Being a single-slot item, it makes CrossFireX setups easier to put together

Water blocks have two main assets: they cool stuff a lot better than air coolers, and they take up a lot less space. For graphics cards, the latter is very important, and Koolance knows it.

Why? Because normal, air-based coolers take two PCI Express slots, which makes it hard to use all of them on a motherboard.

So, since water blocks don't take up more than one slot, it's possible to set up multi-card configurations easier.

Sure, you trade off some of the 5.25-inch drive space to hold the reservoir and pump, but in regular cases, those things (save whichever is used for an optical drive) stay empty anyway.

Koolance has just launched the VID-AR290X, a water block for the AMD Radeon R9 290X graphics card.

It has a high-performance microfin (0.5 mm) design, is made of copper with anti-corrosive nickel plating, and uses G 1/4 BSPP threading. Its price is of $129.99 / €129.99.
