People who visited the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia this past October 11 must sure be glad they decided to do so. That is because that was the day a koala joey born at this facility about 6 months ago decided to make its public debut.

Zoo Borns tells us that, on said date, the baby koala emerged from its mother's pouch and spent some time checking out the family's enclosure.

Keepers say that the koala joey is a female and that it presently spends all of its time with mom Maggie.

The latter has had four other offspring over the years, so there is little denying that it is doing a great job looking after its new bundle of joy.

The baby koala has not yet been named, simply because its caretakers haven't managed to come up with an Australian name that would best suit its personality.
