Lately, Kmart seems like the ultimate place to go if you are looking for a cheap tablet, their latest offerings, the Sylvania coming in with a 7 inch screen, Android 2.1 and a pretty low $179.99 price tag making it one of the cheapest seven inchers available out there.

And in case you are wondering what would you get for that price then you would be happy to know that Sylvania has added quite a bunch of interesting features to this tablet.

Don't get me wrong, you won't actually get 3G connectivity, a GPS, or other things of that sort, but for $180 the Sylvania tablet will offer you a HDMI output, two mini-USB ports as well as 802.11b/g wireless connectivity and a front facing camera.

Unfortunately, Kmart does not specify if this thing is actually capable of decoding HD video content, so we don't know how useful that HDMI output will actually be (although you most certainly use it for displaying pictures and playing Angry Bird of course).

Kmart also doesn't tell us what type of processor is inside this thing or if the touchscreen is a capacitative or a resistive model, quite important specifications if you ask me.

We do know however, Sylvania's 7 inch offering comes with 512MB of RAM and 2GB of internal memory, that can be expanded via a micro-SD card slot, a pretty low res 800x480 screen as well as six hours of battery life, decent specs if you take into consideration its lowish price tag.

Android Market access hasn't made its way among the specifications so I am guessing it's missing from Sylvania's offering, but this can be added by simply installing an .apk file so it won't be that hard to enable it if you know a few basic things about Android operation.

If all this made you curious then you should know Sylvania's tablet is up for grabs right now from Kmart's website, that pretty low $179.99 price tag making it a really interesting option if you aren't particularly picky when it comes to choosing your tablets. (via Ubergizmo)
