When actress Leah Remini announced that she’d defected from the Church of Scientology earlier this year, everybody expected at least some juicy details but they never came from her directly. She did say though that many of her so-called “friends” from the Church had cut her off, one of them being Kirstie Alley.

Well, Kirstie Alley is now saying in a Howard Stern interview that they were never friends to begin with. Moreover, she accuses Leah of being a “repulsive bigot” and declares her her “enemy” because she’s talking trash about Scientology.

“I think that is the most repulsive thing that a person can do is attack another person’s faith,” Kirstie told the radio personality in the interview meant to promote her new show.

She says going after the Jews publicly and doing the same with Scientologists is basically one and the same thing because it amounts to discrimination and lack of respect when it comes to someone’s religious beliefs.

Personally, Kirstie says, she never cared too much about Leah (they weren’t friends, she says once more) but when she started badmouthing the Church to promote her own agenda, that’s when she (Kirstie) drew the line.

“First of all, I just want everyone to know that I have hundreds of friends who have come into Scientology and left Scientology. You’re not shunned, you’re not chased. All that stuff’s [expletive],” she says, denying Leah’s claims that her friends stopped talking to her when she left the Church.

“However, when you are generalizing and when your goal is to malign and to say things about an entire group, when you decide to blanket statement that Scientology is evil, you are my enemy. The truth is I don’t think I’ve seen Leah for like seven or eight years. I didn’t care if she was in or out, I honestly didn’t,” Kirstie explains.

“If she was saying… Jews are evil, Jews are a cult, would they be your friend? They wouldn’t be mine. It’s not selective. I just won’t have people in my life that are that,” she continues.

According to various reports, since Leah left the cult, Kirstie, who is one of the most high profile Scientologists, has been carrying out a more or less covert smear campaign on Twitter and in the press. In the Howard Stern interview, she admits only to not following Leah on Twitter anymore.
