Kirstie Alley and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy are working hard for the premiere of the new season of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, but a new report suggest that Kirstie is determined they do a bit more than dancing.

The actress is a well-known member of the Church of Scientology and, according to a new report in PopEater, she’s trying to make Maksim see the benefits of joining its ranks.

Though she rarely speaks about her religious beliefs save those cases when she’s defending Scientology from attacks, Alley has said in the past that she would be “dead” if not for the cult.

She believes that, by getting Maksim on board, he would have nothing but benefits to reap, PopEater has learned from a source close to her.

“Kirstie credits her beliefs for helping her be so successful and wants to share them with Maks,” the spy says for the e-zine.

“She thinks that she’s helping him as much as he is helping her to master dance and truly believes that if he embraces her religion he will have nothing but success,” adds the source.

Maksim, on the other hand, is not interested in whatever Kirstie is trying to sell to him as regards Scientology, the spy explains.

Right now, his only focus is on the dance routines because he wants them to win this edition of the show or at least get as far in the competition as possible.

“It’s not like she is pushing Scientology down his throat, but it’s clear that it’s a huge part of her life and thinks Maks would benefit from embracing it too,” another friend, this time of Maksim’s, says for PopEater.

It’s not going to happen, though.

“There is a much better chance of Kirstie getting into a size zero dress than her convincing Maks to try Scientology!” the tipster dishes.

Controversial religious beliefs aside, Kirstie is thrilled to be on DWTS and has been making lovely progress at rehearsals, as we also informed you yesterday.

She’s determined to win and, judging by Maksim’s encouragements on Twitter, she has the right attitude for it.
