At 60, Kirstie Alley is feeling more energetic and more ready to take on new challenges than ever before – and it’s all thanks to her impressive weight loss. She’s already down 100 pounds (46 kg) and, as she puts it in a new interview, eager to start looking for love again.

The actress has always had a very troubled history with weight loss, which repeatedly made her tabloid fodder, forcing her to go into hiding for extended periods of time.

When she accepted to on Dancing With the Stars last season, she made the first step towards an amazing change, she now tells People magazine.

She was, at the time, 230 pounds (approximately 105 kg), and she had reached a point in her life where she really had nothing to look forward to.

“My body had gotten really weak. There was nothing positive about being fat,” the actress says in the interview with the celebrity magazine.

Training for DWTS made her realize instantly that she had just found the perfect way to burn lots of calories fast.

She continued after the show on a diet and doing regular workouts so that, this summer, she crossed the 100-pound threshold.

“When I hit that mark, I went, ‘That’s it!’ I have more energy than I’ve ever had in my whole life. I feel back to normal. I have my game again,” the star explains.

She’s even thinking of starting dating again and, with some luck, maybe she’ll find her Mr. Right. For what it’s worth, she knows exactly what how she wants him to be.

“What I’m looking for is to be madly, deeply in love. For the first time in my life, I know exactly what I want in a man. I want someone who has my back, who is courageous and brave,” she says.

To make everything even peachier for Kirstie, she’s also back on TV: she’s now working on an ABC pilot, “The Manzanis,” also thanks to her stint on DWTS.
