Kingston might be focusing a number of its resources in the growing segment for Solid State Drives, but the Fountain Valley, California-based company hasn't forgotten where its roots are. The company has just announced the debut of its new 12GB triple-channel HyperX memory kits to support Intel's LGA1366 Core i7-based computer systems. The new kits have been designed to consist of six 2GB modules that work at 1600MHz with a rating of 1.65 volts.

“System builders and heavy-users who deploy 12GB of Kingston HyperX triple-channel memory will find performance increases in such tasks as video encoding, processing large photo files, graphical rendering and extreme PC games,” said Marc Bernier, European Research and Development engineer, Kingston Technology. “The 12GB memory kit helps increase overall system performance in 64-bit operating systems.”

According to the memory vendor, the 12GB memory kits will enable users to see an overall performance increase in 64-bit operating systems. The modules have been especially designed to meet the specifications of Intel's XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) certification, ensuring a stable performance on Intel-based computer systems. The manufacturer claims that these new modules will provide system builders and enthusiasts with performance increases in such tasks as video encoding, processing large photo files, and graphical rendering, as well as extreme gaming applications.

In Kingston's testing methodology, the kit has been successfully tested on motherboards with six DDR3 memory DIMMs, such as Gigabyte's GA-X58-UD6 and ASUS P6T Deluxe. With a factory-set memory speed of 1600MHz, the 12GB kit features modules that work at latencies of CL9-9-9-27, at 1.65V. The kit is backed by a lifetime warranty and will be available for a MSRP of US$413.00, ready to provide users of Intel's X58 platform with support for extreme set-ups.
