Kingston Technology, who specializes in memory products, has recently released its 800MHz DDR2 fully-buffered dual-inline memory (FB-DIMM) "specifically designed and validated" for Apple's Mac Pro and Xserve servers. Kingston's 800MHz FB-DIMM memory kits are available immediately in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB capacities.

"Kingston is a member of the Apple Developer Connection(C) and our new 800MHz FB-DIMMs were thoroughly tested at the Apple validation labs on their latest 8-Core Xeon Mac Pro Workstation to ensure product quality and compatibility," said Don Beauchamp, manager, product engineering, Kingston. "To optimize performance, we recommend upgrading Mac Pro memory to at least four FB-DIMMs to enable running in quad-channel mode."

The company has confirmed that Kingston 800MHz FB-DIMMs match the bandwidth needs of the latest Quad-Core Xeon processors, delivering up to 25.6 GB/s bandwidth with four memory channels active. The 2GB and 4GB kits allow for a flexible upgrade path, leaving room for future additions.
