Kingston's HyperX is a brand that is being applied to high-end products from all the categories it has approached, including RAM and solid state drives. Now, the company made its best flash drives, so it strapped that moniker on them too.

The new flash drive units that Kingston created were previewed a while ago as well.

They are called HyperX 3.0 and are part of the DataTraveler series, which means the line's full name is DataTraveler HyperX 3.0.

Available in capacities of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB, there is no question that these are fully worthy of the term 'massive'.

After all, they are, basically, capable of storing more than the majority of solid state drives out there.

To make sure copying large files to and from the drive doesn't become a slow and tedious process, Kingston elected the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface standard.

Not that USB 3.0 isn't already common, or at least close enough to threaten USB 2.0's position as mainstream Universal Serial Bus connection.

That said, the USB 3.0 is just the conduit that allows for the high read and write performance of the newcomers.

It is the eight-channel architecture that actually pushes data at up to 225 MB/s when reading and 135 MB/s when writing.

In other words, big files will take little to transfer and applications will be possible to run directly from the drives.

Finally, design-wise, the DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 have metal and rubberized casings with reinforced key holes and significant durability.

“Enthusiasts have long known HyperX as the memory of choice for overclockers and power users who need the most performance from system memory,” said Andrew Ewing, Flash memory business manager, Kingston.

“The new DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 USB Flash drive continues this tradition. With the fastest speeds and largest capacity, this storage device is the perfect solution for users who require high performance and carry a lot of data.”
