Kingmax released the world's smallest memory stick on February 11, at the New York shopping plaza, at the same time in which others confessed their love on a huge stage. Moreover, Kingmax and a renowned Taiwanese jewelry maker named Silver Town created and showcased their limited edition of Valentine's Day Super Sticks on the same day.

No one was able to surpass the popularity of Kingmax's memory sticks, devices which come with a miniature size of only 34mm x 12.4 mm x 2.2mm and a low weight of up to three grams.

However, the manufacturer stated - during a recent press conference - that it intends to roll out a new model of the high-speed memory Super Stick with Single Level Cell (SLC) technology. This new addition to the series will be able to read and write at 20MB/sec(max.) and 13MB/sec(max.), respectively.

The reason for such an initiative has been made clear by a company's representative, cited by Hardware Zone: "In the future, Kingmax will segment our consumer groups and products by suggested retail price and the color of the product itself. Whether it's our standard or high-speed Super Stick, Kingmax satisfies the needs of every consumer group. The need for greater memory storage capacity is becoming a pressing concern for consumers. Kingmax understands our customers' needs, and while our Super Stick enjoys huge success on the market, we continue to go forward with research and development to improve on existing technology."

Kingmax has developed the widely-used PIP packaging technology and, of course, it is the one who holds the worldwide patent.
