Developer Blueside has released another trailer for the upcoming Kingdom Under Fire 2, this time around showcasing an extended battle scene, running at full power on the PlayStation 4 console.

The trailer was edited using actual in-game footage, showing the gameplay flow in the upcoming hack and slash / real-time strategy hybrid and offering a sneak peak at the scale of the engagements that players will be immersed in when the game hits the PS4.

The game is built on the studio's in-house Blueside Engine, able to render huge landscapes and battle scenes with hundreds of participants, as can be seen in the trailer. In addition to the massive scope of the battlefield clashes, the action is also highlighted by the masterful creations of Cris Velasco, a talented composer best known for his work in the God of War series.

The video shows each of the playable characters in Kingdom Under Fire 2, displaying their arsenal of unique skills and some of the ways that the numerous troops on the battlefield can be employed in order to make the best tactical decision and secure victory.

The extended battle trailer offers a glimpse of a raid mission against Celes, a powerful monster and one of the key characters in the upcoming game.

Kingdom Under Fire 2 aims to deliver an immersive tactical experience, challenging players will skillful decisions and allowing them to employ a wide array of specialized units in order to take down their enemies, in addition to making use of the individual skillsets of the three main heroes, the Berserker, Gunslinger and Spellsword, each of which offering a completely different play style.

The upcoming game will also support multiplayer, allowing players to request help from their friends and take part in the large-scale skirmishes with competent allies at their side.

Kingdom Under Fire is designed to be a free-to-play massively multiplayer online title, in which players have the chance to evolve from a lowly mercenary to the ruler of the world, becoming incrementally more powerful until nothing can stand in their way and they will be able to defend the vast continent of Bersia from the invasion of Encablossa, the God of Darkness.

The game is currently scheduled to come out later this year, at a yet undisclosed date, for the PC and PlayStation 4 platforms. There is no word yet on whether players will be able to enjoy cross-platform action between the PC and PS4 editions.
