The format remains pretty much a mystery for us all

Even though the Kindle Format 8 remains a mystery for most of us, Amazon has already added support for this HTML5-based content delivery platform in its Kindle Fire.

Nate Hoffelder from The Digital Reader uncovered this while taking a look at the source code for the Manage My Kindle page.

Deep inside this, he found a sting called MOBI8_SUPPORTED which he believes it denotes the tablet’s support for this kind of format.

We believe so too, as this would make quite a lot of sense for Amazon, but the real question now is what this new format will actually bring to the table.

For now, the only thing that we know is that it will come as a competitor for Epub and Epub3, but for more details I guess that we’ll have to wait for Amazon to release its new star, the Kindle Format 8.
