Earlier today Amazon started sending the 6.2.1 software update over the-air to Kindle Fire’s everywhere, but this isn’t all good news as some users have reported that this latest firmware version breaks root on their device.

But this is just the tip of the iceberg for those of you with superuser access on your Kindle Fire, as The Digital Reader reports that the update also breaks one of the most popular rooting tools for the Fire, namely SuperOneClick.

The good part however is that together with this update you should also get a couple of pretty useful features such as the ability to remove books, apps or other content from the carousel and a series of privacy options.

Performance should also be improved, so while it may break root it does actually give you something in return.
