While the details are still blurry on this one and the rumors are far too numerous to allow us to clearly discern between them and what will really happen, it seems that Amazon is not waiting anymore and will launch the Kindle Fire 2 in the following month.

The devices will reportedly have a 1280 by 800 pixel resolution screen, and they will also sport the same 8 GB of flash storage like the current models.

It will be interesting to see whether there will be an e-ink display as most e-reader enthusiasts are hoping for, but this is unlikely in our opinion, as the longer battery life and other e-ink inherent advantages will hurt Amazon’s own e-reader sales.

There is no word on pricing, but Amazon isn’t likely to go beyond $199.
