14 DAY TRIAL // What the recent wedding between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West has done is remind a lot of people that she was still a news item and possibly hot enough for a little bit of attention. The odd thing is that most of the people who remembered all of a sudden took an interest in the reality star in the Biblical sense, and they all went out and bought her raunchy tape.
The Daily Star is reporting that the sales of Kim's tape from 2003 with rapper Ray J have quadrupled in value, bringing in a very handsome sum to the reality starlet even after several years.
Distributor Vivid confirms that the tape has enjoyed a surge in popularity after the Italian wedding and that the 41-minute-long clip is making crazy amounts of money for both of the performers. Ray and Kim sued the company in 2007 for distributing the video without permission and later made a settlement to receive a large chunk of every sale.
Some time ago, before the wedding, Ray J bragged to the media that he was putting up the 3-month income from the tape as a wedding gift to Kim and Kanye, and people were shocked to see the number go up into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
A source explains that, “Kim has always seen that deal as providing a guaranteed income for life. She’s totally jazzed that her wedding has boosted sales so dramatically and you aren’t going to hear her complain about the extra cash.”
However, there is still at least one person who isn't happy about the raunchy tape, and that guy is husband Kanye West. The main reason would be that the tape brings back a certain part of Kim's history back into the present and, for him, those are not some happy memories.
After all, the video shows his wife performing some very indecent acts on one of his rapping rivals, Ray J.
“Kanye is really [expletive] that fans are clamoring to watch his wife in the sack not only with another man but a man who happens to be one of his Arch-rivals,” the source adds. “There’s always been bad blood between Kanye and Ray J and Kanye is furious that Kim is still in any kind of financial partnership with him, let alone one that involves their [raunchy] tape.”
At least Kanye knew what he was getting into right from the start. You can't really blame Kim for hiding this from her new husband. That's one way of bringing home the bacon and, it turns out that, despite the fact that she's been eager to put that tape behind her and start fresh in the eyes of the press, it always comes back to haunt her.
