14 DAY TRIAL // It seems that Kim and Kanye have done something completely uncharacteristic for them: they've gone and married in secret, well in advance of their Paris wedding, in a ceremony that was not announced or broadcast, but that insiders swear took place and the press is now calling “The American Wedding.”
Tabloid Life & Style is reporting that Kim and Kanye have already said their “I do's” prior to their famous Paris wedding that is set to take place on May 24. It seems the happy yet extremely secret event took place sometime last week, before the couple heads out to France.
“Kim and Kanye are now married on paper. They got their license in California over the past few days,” claims an insider, adding that “Kim and North are on their way to NYC now.”
It is believed that the main reason for this secretive formal wedding is the fact that a certain French law requires that at least one of the members of the couple to spend at least 40 continuous days in country prior to the wedding. Also, the couple probably wanted to make sure to get married on American soil to make it that more official.
In order to prove that they've been residing in France, they would need to provide two pieces of ID, such as a lease and a French social security card. Yes, that sounds like too much of a hassle, hence the secret American wedding, or at least the marriage ceremony.
Whatever else their reasons may be, it looks like their big, fancy Paris wedding is going to be just for show, because Kim and Kanye have already become Mr. and Mrs. West.
The attention of the press and indeed the entire world is now turning to the big wedding that is said to be taking place in a palace just outside of Paris and that the couple wants to make as close to the royal wedding that took place in 2011 as possible.
It's been confirmed that Kim has already picked out her dresses as she will be undergoing “multiple costume changes.” All her attires are from major designers including Givenchy, Balmain and Lanvin.
Don't worry, though! Despite the fact that Kim and Kanye are planning an ultra-exclusive wedding ceremony in France, which will probably have more security than the Berlin wall used to have, you'll be able to see it for yourself, and all from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
KUWTK will be airing the nuptials, albeit somewhat late, probably next year, since they have exclusive broadcast rights. Vogue is said to have obtained exclusive photo rights and it will probably feature the best ones in the magazine.
