Celebrity plays April Fools' Day joke

April Fools' Day jokes generally don't involve hacking, but for celebrities, anything goes. Nicole Richie hacked the Twitter accounts for her soon-to-be husband Joel Madden, and Kim Kardashian, a very close friend, as part of an April Fools' Day gag.

While none of the celebrity victims took this joke more than it was (a simple prank), the hacking didn't involve any hacking at all. Nicole asked Kim's sister, Khloe, to help her in acquiring the Twitter credentials for Kim Kardashian's account, while she easily got herself into the possession of her boyfriend's password.

After posting messages on Joel Madden's account, saying how much he would love to sniff Paula Abdul's armpits, she moved to Kim's account where she posted some “intriguing” messages about Kim's preferences in the bedroom.

Both fraped celebrities had a good laughter, none even thinking about pressing any legal charges against their friend. The effect was quite the opposite, Kim Kardashian calling it the best April Fools' Day prank ever.

A list of all the tweets published by Nicole from her victims’ accounts can be seen on the Sophos blogs at this page. Enjoy a laughter!

As the general public is observing lately, there's a trend developing among Internet users, who seem to have no problem in impersonating another on social platforms or posting ludicrous and embarrassing messages from their accounts.

While most celebrities have their marketing staff register social media accounts for them, not all of them use them, and for sure not all of them even know of the existence of social networks until something bad happens involving their name.

This is not limited to celebrity only, while they get all the attention, it is something regular these days for someone to log on the Internet using somebody's else credentials that a special attribute has even been invented to describe the victims: fraped. So, in the end, Nicole Richie was doing something so very common these days amongst youngsters, but so ill-advised.
