14 DAY TRIAL // There was a time when Paris Hilton and her personal assistant turned BFF and always-on-duty sidekick Kim Kardashian were inseparable. That was before Kim’s leaked adult tape and before she got more famous than Paris, an offense that the heiress found absolutely unpardonable.
What followed next was a very long while of major shade from both sides, a practice that Paris started when, asked in a radio interview what she thought of her now-former friend’s generous backside, she said it reminded her of a trash bag filled with cottage cheese. Ouch!
With each year, Kim got more famous and Paris less so even though, to her credit, at one point, she stopped trying to compete and found another niche to exploit: she became a DJ.
The shading didn’t stop though, and every once in a while, reports would make it out in print and online about how Paris, one of the biggest stars in showbiz, was feeling so jealous of Kim’s career that she’d come to regret the day she put her on the map. Because, whichever way you look at it, Paris did help make Kim a star, if only for the mere fact that she introduced her to all the right people, and perhaps just as important, to the paparazzi.
For those of you feeling nostalgic for the days when Paris and Kim were the hottest item out in Hollywood, here’s some good news: they have called a truce, albeit only temporarily.
Both women were in Ibiza over the weekend, at Riccardo Tisci’s birthday party, and they snapped a photo together and even deigned to include a few nice words about the chance meeting.
“Reminiscing about the 1st time we went to Ibiza in 2006! @parishilton it was so good to see you & catch up!! Loves it lol,” Kim wrote in a caption to the photo posted on Instagram.
Paris also posted the pic and also took the trouble of saying something nice about her (former?) frenemy. “So much fun with @KimKardashian this weekend at @AmnesiaIbiza. The first time we ever came up to this magical island was together. Such an amazing trip! Great catching up with you too beautiful!,” she wrote.
So that probably means she no longer finds Kim’s backside “gross,” right? And she would never again find the fun in making her clean her closet several times in a row even though it’s tidy? And she would probably not call her names with another BFF, Nicole Richie, in front of strangers?
And Kim would never again have her mother and manager Kris Jenner do all the trash-talking at Paris’ expense, right?
Of course, they could be just posing for the cameras, without feeling any of the nice words they used in the captions. By now, they’re too savvy to know that a reconciliation, even a fake one, would bring them more money than an open feud – and we all know the power of the dollar.
