14 DAY TRIAL // Kim Kardashian is happy to let the world know that she’s officially back to her pre-pregnancy weight, having lost 50 pounds (22.6 kg) since she gave birth to her and Kanye West’s daughter North. During her pregnancy, Kim was often ridiculed in the blogosphere for dressing inappropriately for that stage in her life, but she always insisted that people picked on her because she was gaining weight.
She tells Leno that her revealing bikini selfie of a few days ago was her way of giving the middle finger to the world but, at the same time, she goes on the record with how hurt she was when people wouldn’t stop talking about how much weight she’d gained.
“Actually I got on the scale today and it said that I am 50lbs [22.6 kg] down. That made me so excited,” Kim tells Leno, adding that gaining weight while pregnant was “the greatest challenge” of her life. She says she’s on the Atkins Diet.
“[Criticism] really hurt my soul. It changed how I am in public. I've tried to live more of a private life,” she says, trying to explain that she hasn’t been “in hiding” until just recently as some media outlets said; she’s just been enjoying this time with her daughter and fiancé.
Speaking of Kanye, Kim gushed that “he did good” with the gorgeous diamond ring he chose to propose with, explained that she would be taking the name West after the wedding, and added that he will probably plan the whole wedding.
A tentative wedding date is next summer, with the reality star hinting that it might not take place in the US, especially not with Kanye doing all the planning. This could mean that there won’t be any TV wedding special like the Kris Humphries one, but, as they say, “never say never.”
