14 DAY TRIAL // Kim Kardashian’s struggle to get pregnant again has been one of the major story arcs on this season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and the mid-season ended with a big announcement: she and husband Kanye West have finally been able to conceive.
You can see Kim making the announcement in the video below, which is the teaser that aired after the mid-season finale. As of the time of writing, she is yet to say anything about it on social media, where she usually discusses most developments shown on the KUWTK.
Kim and Kanye are expecting baby number 2
Kim and Kanye have a baby daughter, North West (aka Nori), born on June 15, 2013. The pregnancy was a difficult one for Kim, who even said right after the birth that she might never want to go through that again.
However, motherhood made her have a change of heart, and pretty soon, she and Kanye were trying again. However, Kim had some fertility issues (even North was conceived with some difficulty), so they had to see various specialists.
On the more recent episodes of the show, Kim was repeatedly shown at the doctor’s, getting tests and even undergoing surgery in the hope she and Kanye would add another child to the family.
It seems that their efforts have paid off, because the teaser, airing after the car-crash episode the other night, shows her beaming as she tells sister Khloe, “I just got the blood test back, and I am pregnant!”
She doesn’t say how far along she is or whether she knows if she’s having a boy or a girl, and there’s no way to determine when the video was shot. However, considering she’s been photographed throughout the month of May without the slightest trace of a baby bump, she can’t be too far along.
Turning the most intimate details into a profitable story
Kim Kardashian objects to being told that she does “nothing” to deserve to be this famous, arguing that this alone should be proof that she’s more hard-working than people who do actually have a talent. As she sees it, if she can be this famous for just being herself and no one else can do it as well as she can, she’s better than those who sing or act or create art.
In all fairness, the way Kim managed to rise to international fame and not just stay there, but actually become bigger by the day, is fascinating to say the least.
This is a woman who can turn every aspect of her life, whether it’s her business venture or the mere act of going out to run errands or hit the gym, into a headline or a story arc for her reality show.
Her fertility struggle has been one of the selling points of the more recent episodes of the KUWTK series, so chances are her second pregnancy will also be heavily featured, when the time comes.
She did the same with her first one, including taking the cameras to the hospital when she feared she was going into premature labor. So brace yourselves, more of the same is coming.
