Kim Kardashian, former socialite turned television personality and self-styled fashion and beauty icon, knows how to work the camera to always look good. As such, she’s the best to dish out advice on makeup.

The star, who is now preparing to open a DASH boutique in NYC, where she’s also shooting for a spinoff of her reality series, says always looking glam comes naturally to her.

Kim, who turned 30 this week, says being in the spotlight is not too difficult for her since she’s basically doing what every other woman dreams of doing: playing dress up for the cameras.

However, she insists in an interview with the Toronto Sun, people should not believe she’s always this dolled up, because, when she’s not working, she likes to keep her makeup to a minimum, using only the basics.

“Luckily I love fashion, I love beauty and I love getting glammed up, so it’s not a task for me so I handle it pretty well,” Kim says of always being in the spotlight and having to live up to her reputation.

“Her beauty routine is simple, Kardashian says, with toner, cleanser and moisturizers by Perfect Skin. When she’s not working, she sports little make up, foundation and blush,” Toronto Sun writes of her daily beauty routine.

Speaking of foundation, Kim says women using a shade lighter than their skin are actually not doing themselves any favors because it doesn’t look good on them.

“I hate when women wear the wrong foundation color, it might be the worst thing on the planet when they wear their make up too light,” the star says.

One item Kim says she would never leave the house without is blot paper or powder, she reveals. Since she’s always having her picture taken, it’s understandable she wants to look her best at all times.

“Kardashian was in Toronto this week helping to launch FusionBeauty Coloreuticals collection, which includes Illumifill, a facial highlighter that smoothes the skin available at The Bay, Shopper’s Drug Mart, Murale and Sephora,” the Toronto Sun writes.
