A 62-year-old man from Moody, Texas has been killed in an unexpected Africanized bee attack.

NBC affiliate KCEN informed that he was checking out a chicken coop he had come across when he found the killer bee nest.

On Saturday, he was helping a neighbor clear the brush on his property using a tractor when he found the bees' 22 honeycombs.

Some 40,000 bees swarmed, stinging him on every portion of his body, according to the medical examiner. Larry Goodwin had just turned 62 the day before.

He ran off to a neighbor's home and put both her and her daughter in jeopardy. He took a hose and sprayed himself, in a bid to get them off him.

According to the Daily Mail, his neighbor intervened to assist him and she and her daughter were stung a total of 100 times.

Doctors assess that it could be enough to kill them. The woman is currently in the hospital in critical condition. It takes only ten stings per pound (0.45 kg) for the bees to kill whoever they find threatening.

A witness called 911 and a 45-minute CPR effort followed, but Goodwin was pronounced dead at the scene. He is survived by daughters Tanya Goodwin and Kelley Flores.

“If anybody has any brush or anything on their lands please clear it because they don't want to go through this. Nobody needs to go through this,” Tanya advises.

“Anywhere you think a bee's going to be. Really take precaution if you have any doubt. Call somebody or call the fire department out here and they'll check it out for you,” neighbor John Puckett adds.

This is not the first time killer bees take a man's life. Africanized bees have claimed the lives of eight people since 1990, according to the Texas AgriLife Extension Service.
