There are wearables for adults, wearables for dogs and wearables for fitness maniacs. So why shouldn't there be wearables for children too?

X-Doria has noticed a lack of such products on the market, so it has introduced a fitness-centric device designed to appeal especially to children.

Tapping into the growing concern that children are increasingly prone to obesity due to lack of physical activities, the KitFit aims to do something about the situation.

The device will launch in August and will sell for just 50 bucks. For this amount of cash, you get a plasticky wristband reminiscent of a colorful smartwatch.

X-Doria says that the device will be able to track your little one’s sleep and physical activity cycles. The goal is to reach 100 points every day, which translates into kids getting the necessary levels of exercise.

The goals are set by the parents using the iOS or Android-compatible app via their smartphone or tablet. The wearable will then provide feedback related to the child’s progress via encouraging “Result Cards”.

The wearable is splash proof and it will be able to last up to seven days on a single charge like the FitBit or Jawbone Up.

The KidFit won’t actually track your child per se, in the sense that GPS-enabled wearables could, but even so, it provides important information regarding your child’s wellbeing.
