This isn't likely to make the website any less interesting, so no worries there

I've written about plenty of projects that launched thanks to the now well-known Kickstarter website. Now, I get to write something about the site itself, or rather the company behind it.

Long story short, two of the co-founders of Kickstarter are pulling out of the leading role and passing it on to Yancey Strickler.

Founder Perry Chen said as much on the Kickstarter Blog. He's been acting as CEO, but will switch to chairman, a position that will let him work on personal projects more.

That will happen on January 1, when Yancey will, in turn, take the CEO spot.

Meanwhile, Charles Adler will move to Chicago to be closer to his family. He will be mostly an advisor from then on, but will look to other prospects for the future.

It's all a nice culmination of roles for these three people who played so many different parts in the history of Kickstarter. And since the cumulative pledges made on Kickstarter will reach $1 billion / €730 million, it's an appropriate time, one might say, for things to go to the next level.
