Lamar Odom says Khloe Kardashian will “always” be his wife even if they get a divorce, which he hopes won’t happen

This explains why Lamar Odom flew out of Los Angeles, destination Spain, where he’s to make his comeback at the Baskonia (aka Laboral Kutxa) team, proudly showing off his wedding band on his left hand even though she filed for divorce from him in December: the divorce will probably not go through.

Speaking with the press once he touched down in Spain, the former NBA star tried to underline that he was not what people thought of him based on his appearance on the Kardashian reality show, the E!-produced Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

He also seemed to be going out of his way to shut down talk that his marriage to Khloe was a stunt from start to finish or, for that matter, that it was about to end because she filed the divorce papers.

“I love my wife. She'll always be my wife, no matter what. Who knows? We don't know exactly if [the divorce is going through]. Only time will tell. I hope not. But even if we were divorced, she would always be my wife,” he said, as cited by Us Weekly.

Because being married to Khloe for almost 4 years was one of the best things to have happened to him, he continued.

“Those were some of the best years of my life. Being married and being married to a woman I decided to marry was, besides having children, the most important thing in my life. We all have regrets, but the thing is to learn from life,” Lamar explained.

He didn’t say what those mistakes he made might have been but, if we’re to believe reports online, they probably include cheating on Khloe whenever he got the chance, bragging about it in a video that leaked online and dabbling into drugs to such an extent that he developed a raging addiction that eventually pushed Khloe away.

Be that as it may, Lamar is determined to make his comeback to basketball, prove to the world that he’s still at the top of his game and, at the same time, that he’s more than a “reality star,” whatever that means.

“I think we prejudge a little bit too much these days because there's so much access to everything about the world. It's easy for us to look at a YouTube video or a program that doesn't turn off and say, ‘This guy must be this way.’ I understand how powerful TV is, but there's nothing I would do different,” Lamar said.

When Lamar married Khloe after a courtship of just a few months and agreed to be on the reality show, there was much talk about how he was “selling out” on basketball and ruining his NBA career in the process. That’s what he’s referring to in saying there’s more to him than what viewers of the reality series saw.
