Architectural firm SWA Group believes that all the Keystone XL pipeline needs to finally be accepted by people and no longer be “bullied” is an extreme makeover.

Sort of like turning an ugly duckling (which happens to also cause tremendous damage to the environment) into a lovely swan.

According to Oil Price, the firm's Creative Director, Kinder Baumgarder, has sent a letter to the State Department suggesting that a bike lane be built along the pipeline, from beginning to end.

This means that the bike lane would measure an impressive 1,300 miles (2,092 kilometers) in length.

Add some flowers, a bright sun in the background, a bunch of shiny, happy cyclists and there would no longer be anything to worry about. Except accidental spills, that is.

Surprisingly enough (and yes, I am being ironic), environmentalists did not quite welcome the idea.

“I think it’s ridiculous. Why would anyone who cares about the environment want to ride on top of a pipeline that ruins the environment? The person who developed this is so out of touch with reality,” said Jane Kleeb, a member of environmental activist group Bold Nebraska.

Not that I am against bicycles or anything, but I have to say I agree with Jane.
