The entire world may have nothing but kind words to say about actor Bruce Willis, but director Kevin Smith begs to differ. In a recent interview, Smith put Willis on blast, saying working with him was nothing short of “soul crushing.”

Willis and Smith worked together on the action movie / comedy “Cop Out,” which came out in 2010 and was labeled a huge flop by critics and audiences alike.

If you ask the director about why the film fared so miserably, he’d say Bruce Willis is partly responsible for it. Not only was he a nightmare on set, but he also failed to promote it.

In fact, had Bruce done more to fulfill his contractual obligations, “Cop Out” would have fared much better, Smith says in an interview cited by PopEater.

“It was difficult. I’ve never been involved in a situation like that where one component is not in the box at all. It was [expletive]-ing soul crushing,” Smith said of working with Bruce Willis.

The actor was difficult to be around when on set – and even worse after shooting was done, since he did nothing by means of raising awareness for the film.

“I had no [expletive]-ing help from this dude whatsoever,” the director revealed in the same interview.

The exact opposite of that goes for Willis’ co-star in “Cop Out,” Tracy Morgan, who turned out to be any director’s dream collaborator come to life.

“He’s a [expletive]-ing dream. Tracy Morgan, I would lay down in traffic for. Were it not for Tracy, I might’ve killed myself or someone else in the making of that movie,” Smith said.

As of now, it is not known what prompted this backlash from Kevin Smith or why it took him so long to go to the media and complain about Bruce Willis, since the film wrapped production a while back.

Willis has not yet responded in any way to these allegations.
