The new buddy cop comedy features some good chemistry between the two

Although it's not even close to “Bad Boys,” the new cop comedy featuring comedian Kevin Hart and former rapper Ice Cube might be actually entertaining – at least by judging from the newly released theatrical trailer.

Hart plays a school security guard in love with the sister of a cynical and tough police detective played by Ice Cube. In order to prove his love and devotion to Cube's sister, Hart must go on a ride along. From there, things go complicated as mayhem, comedy and explosions ensue to form the plot of the film “Ride Along.”

While the two main actors seem to have a good chemistry together, it's highly unlikely that the film will bring anything new to the whole buddy-cop comedy genre. But fans of this type of movie won't be disappointed.

Directed by Tim Story, “Ride Along” is set to hit theaters on January 17. The movie also stars John Leguizamo, Tika Sumpter, Bryan Called and Jay Pharoah.
