Since he divorced famous wife Britney Spears, Kevin Federline has slipped out of the spotlight, choosing to move on with his life by pursuing other endeavors. As fame slipped through his fingers, the pounds kept piling, which has led to the nickname of K-Fat, a variant of his rapper moniker K-Fed. All that is about to change, as Federline is preparing to join VH1’s reality show Celebrity Fit Club, TMZ informs.

Word on the street has it that producers for the show have been courting the former dancer and singer for quite a while, ever since photos of him showing the extent of his weight gain began to surface in the media. Initially, Federline was opposed to the idea, saying he did not want to try the fame game again, a decision he seems to have changed his mind about in the meantime.

“Looks like Kevin Federline is tired of all the K-Overfed jokes – because TMZ has learned he officially signed on to do the next season of Celebrity Fit Club. Federleezy has packed on the pounds of late but he’s on a mission to reduce the rolls. Earlier today, a TMZ employee watched Britney’s ex saunter onto the Simi Valley, CA set of the VH1 weight-loss reality show. As TMZ first reported, Bobby Brown, Nicole Eggert and Kevin’s other baby-mama Shar Jackson will also join him in trimming the fat.” TMZ says.

At this point in time, neither Federline nor the network has yet confirmed the reports but, as we also reported, this is not the first time that word gets out he is trying to make his way back into the limelight with the help of a reality show. Rumor initially had it he was working on a show on his own that would deal with him being a full-time dad and that would hopefully be picked up by the same network that produced Celebrity Fit Club. No word yet on whether that project is still a go but, given that he’ll be busy fighting the flab, chances are it’s on hold – granted it was ever in his plans, that is.

“Kevin Federline has started shooting a reality TV show about being a full-time dad. The former backing dancer, 31, is hoping VH1 will commission a series after seeing a pilot.” reports in the media were saying a while back. Federline’s current girlfriend, Victoria Prince, was also believed to be part of the project.
