Yet she's currently suing him for the exact same crime

Earlier in October, singer Kesha made a startling revelation: her musical producer, Dr. Luke, had made lewd advances towards her and he was physically and verbally abusive towards her during their long collaboration which lasted about 10 years.

Today, Page Six reports that Kesha denied any such activities in a sworn deposition that was sealed until yesterday. The singer said at the time that Dr. Luke did not make any advances on her and she did not feel threatened by him.

Kesha's attorney claims that her deposition is false, since she was threatened by Dr. Luke at the time

Today, Mark Geragos, Kesha's attorney, claims that the singer made those claims at the time simply because she was afraid of Dr. Luke and was the victim. He pointed out that this is a normal response of a battered woman who is afraid of her abuser.

“Luke’s latest legal maneuver comes as no surprise. It’s a desperate Hail Mary and a pathetic attempt to once again blame his victim,” said Gerangos, keen to point out that Dr. Luke is quickly exhausting his legal options.

“He threatened to destroy Kesha’s life and the lives of her family if she didn’t cover up his sexual assaults in a 2011 deposition. Luke is now following through on his threats,” the lawyer added.

The deposition reveals that Kesha swore Luke never forced himself on her, nor did he give her any drugs

In the deposition, Kesha said that Luke never gave her roofies or cocaine. In a different deposition, Kesha's mother, Pebe, also made the same point, that Luke never gave her “drugs of any kind.” The singer was also adamant that she and Luke never had an intimate relationship, despite the fact that they had slept in the same bed at some point.

Now, in October, Kesha changed her tune and accused Luke of “continuously” forcing himself on the singer after he had given her a drug to snort forcibly before she got on a plane. She also alleges that he forced her to take “sober pills” after they had gone drinking together. She is now convinced that the pills were in fact GHB, the date-rape drug.

Kesha's lawyer is now trying to make clear that fact that her 2011 deposition is not at all damaging to her case because she was under physical and psychological abuse from her producer at the time and nothing she said in her deposition was true.

“Unfortunately protecting abusers out of fear happens all too often with battered women,” says Gerangos.

The interesting thing is that after Kesha filed her lawsuit in October, accusing Luke of abuse, the manager fired off his own lawsuit, accusing her of trying to extort money out of him when he refused to let her out of her contract.
