14 DAY TRIAL // Kerry Washington, better known as Olivia Pope from ABC's series “Scandal” has officially announced that she is pregnant with her first baby. After secretly marrying NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha, Kerry has decided to make public the fact that she is almost four months pregnant.
The Emmy nominated actress kept the baby bump well hidden under her trademark dresses and coats, but with this week's Saturday Night Live show approaching, the secret couldn't be kept anymore.
According to Us Weekly, Kerry wanted to keep the secret as long as possible, but hosting SNL on Saturday made that quite difficult, so she decided to let people know.
After experiencing a few disappointments in the past, Kerry is trying to keep her private life as far away from cameras as possible. In an interview with Glamour Magazine in September, the actress explained that talking about her personal life on camera “doesn't work” for her and that she had “learned through experience”.
Even though Olivia Pope is the best secret keeper in all Washington, Kerry says that she has a hard time keeping secrets. ” I've had earlier times in my career when I did talk about it, but I couldn't just turn around and say, 'I only want to talk about the good stuff, but not the bad stuff.' So I just thought, 'Okay, no more! ',” she explains.
After secretly marrying the San Francisco 49ers cornerback on June 24 in Idaho, Kerry keeps on surprising her fans. The question on everyone's lips right now is what will happen with Olivia Pope once the pregnancy cannot be hidden anymore?
Will we start seeing more and more close ups of Olivia's face, will she be carrying Jake Ballard's baby or the President's baby? This would be an interesting twist to the story. But for now, we can only guess while we wait to see what happens to 'Liv.
