The premiere date for the third season of Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett’s reality show Kendra on Top on WE TV is drawing near, and Kendra wants you to tune in for it. First, she has to convince you that all you’re about to see actually happened in real life and that nothing was staged for publicity purposes.

The Wilkinson-Baskett drama has been playing out in the media for many months now, and whether she likes to admit it or not, even many of her fans don’t believe it’s real: i.e. they don’t believe that Hank cheated on her with transgender model Ava London when she was 8 months pregnant with their second child, and think they set the whole “scandal” up to boost interest in the show.

Even so, the scandal was real and it broke Kendra’s heart, she promises

To promote the new season, Kendra sat down for an interview with People magazine, in which she explains – what else? – why she agreed to have cameras around at a time when most women and men would rather they were left alone, that is, when dealing with the news that their significant other may have cheated on them.

What for us, regular folks, might seem unnatural feels the right thing to do for Kendra. So, instead of guarding her privacy even more bitterly at such a delicate time, by shutting herself in and protecting her family, she dealt with the news by opening up completely.

Or so she says.

“I agreed to shoot the show because being alone at the moment was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life,” she explains. “The producers came to me, and were hugging and holding me. They asked, ‘Do you want to film this?’ I said, ‘Bring the cameras to me... I can't be alone right now.’”

Much can be said about that last part right now, particularly about how she wasn’t alone at all: as we’ve all seen in trailers and teasers for the new season, she had her best friend beside her at all times, a considerable support group and even called her mother to move in for a while, as she dealt with the consequences of Hank’s transgression.

We’ll just have to take her word for it, though: hearing Hank cheated on her broke her heart and left her not knowing where to turn to. So she asked a camera crew over, to feel less “alone.”

Kendra claims she and Hank might never get back together

For the past few months, Kendra has been through hell, she confesses in the same interview. The most recent preview for the series hinted at a possible reconciliation, but she insists this could go either way and she might still file the divorce papers. It’s not scripted, you know.

“I really don't know what to believe,” she says. But this is real life. This is really what's happening. It's been the hardest four months of my life.”

If you followed the Tori Spelling – Dean McDermott marital drama that played out on TV and in the tabs some months before the Kendra scandal, you’re probably having a very serious case of déjà vu right now.

So, do you believe Kendra when she promises she’s not making this up? More importantly, will you be tuning in for the new season? Let us know in the comments section below.
