14 DAY TRIAL // Kendra Wilkinson, once one of the three girlfriends of Hugh Hefner, is not a blushing daisy. Yet she recently turned down an offer from Playboy, the magazine that made her a star – and, now, she explains her decision.
First, the reality star and mommy of one said she wanted to do the spread (the fifth of her career) because she aimed to prove that moms are still attractive.
Then, word got out in the tabloid media that she had a change of mind at the very last moment, because she was too insecure about her post-pregnancy body.
All that is rubbish, Kendra herself says for E! Online in a new interview. She only changed her mind because her husband, Hank Baskett talked her out of it.
According to the reality star, she actually went halfway to doing the spread, contacting the photographer and having him over to her house to shoot her. Then Hank came home.
“He didn’t yell at me. He wasn’t mad at me for doing that photo shoot. He actually sat down with me and he went over the reasons of doing it,” Kendra says.
In a matter of just minutes, Hank made her see that her motivation for doing the spread was wrong. “And you know, my reasons weren’t right,” she says.
“The wrong reasons are to prove people wrong, not to prove it to myself but to people and to put my middle finger up to everybody and be like, ‘I’m going to do Playboy!’ But that wasn’t the right reason, you know?” the star explains.
Now, with the risk of sounding like a broken record, Kendra can honestly say she’s at peace with everything, including the fact that people will always have something bad to say about her personal life or, as was the case more recently, her body.
“No joke, every person I have run across is like ‘Oh, my god! You look so skinny!’ I’m like, ‘Oh, my god, really?’ Like that’s crazy! I haven’t even had a chance to work out!” Kendra gushes.
In fact, she’s so confident about her body now – something she never really was before – that she even showed the photographer who came at her house her C-section.
“You know, I don’t care. I can make fun of myself. I don’t really care. At the end of the day I’m not some supermodel. I’m me. I’m Kendra, you know? I’m not trying to be someone I’m not,” she says.
