Two years after giving birth to her first child, former Playboy bunny Kendra Wilkinson has finally got her body back. More importantly, she finally overcame post-natal depression, with which she’s been struggling for longer than she let the world know.

In a new interview with People magazine, Kendra says she was really depressed after giving birth to Hank, even though she didn’t want anybody else to know it.

She never came to harm her child or her family, but she was down. Now that she’s out on the other side, she’s ready to speak about the experience, in the hope that other moms will know what to do following her example.

“It got pretty bad, [but] not to the point where I would harm my family. I was a great mom and did what I needed to, but I was definitely very depressed,” Kendra says.

When she gave birth, she learned that motherhood was a “big change in life and it happened overnight,” she says.

Kendra also goes into the details of her post-natal depression in her new book, which she penned believing other new moms would stand to gain from it.

“At the time I was doing whatever I could for the baby, but I lost myself and it was really frustrating,” the former glamour girl says.

Things got so bad that she even had days when she couldn’t be bothered to shower or brush her teeth, let alone look in the mirror and dress nicely or apply makeup.

Being always in the spotlight didn’t help – in fact, it only made matters worse, she adds.

“Being in the spotlight is a lot of pressure about losing the weight, [especially] coming from the Playboy world,” Wilkinson notes.

However, she’s now gotten her pre-pregnancy body back and is thrilled to finally be able to enjoy her life as a wife and mother.

“I’m back to being that Kendra that everyone knew at the Playboy Mansion, but a lot more mature and grown up. I’m more aware of life. Now that I have my body back and I feel good again, I have the perfect amount of balance. It’s all about finding the balance,” she explains.
