Kendall and Kylie Jenner, the younger half-siblings to the Kardashian girls, Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe, stopped by Jimmy Fallon the other night to promote their first sci-fi novel, “Rebels: City of Indra: The Story of Lex and Livia.” As you can see from the video below, before talking about it, they had to speak of that famous Kimye wedding.

The Jenner girls, though very successful on their own (they already have a fashion line together and have had some success as models), still live in Kim’s shadow, as this appearance on Fallon will probably confirm.

Before even naming the reason for their presence on the set, the talk show host asked them about Kim’s nuptials to rapper Kanye West, which took place in Italy after an entire wedding weekend in Paris, and their favorite moments from what has been dubbed “the wedding of the year.”

Both loved how romantic Kanye is and how he surprised Kim with a wall of flowers both on Mother’s Day and on her wedding day. They also loved the fireworks at Versailles and the wedding ceremony from start to finish, because it was dreamy.

We imagine you didn’t expect them to actually say something new on the topic: if rumors are true, Kim is getting paid a fortune for rights to have footage and photos from the wedding included on the E! Kardashian reality show and, as such, secrecy is paramount.

Kendall and Kylie, looking slightly uncomfortable / nervous because this was their first Fallon appearance ever, also spoke about their book: a young adult, sci-fi dystopian novel that’s already available in stores.

They said that they wanted to do something “different,” something that was close to their heart, so the idea for a novel like “The Hunger Games” or “Divergent” seemed perfect. Obviously, they didn’t even mention that they used ghostwriters for the book that carried their name.

Speaking of the book, reviews of it over at Amazon.com spell disaster. According to many people who have already rushed to buy it, the trees that died in making it would have been far happier if they’d been made into toilet paper because there’s absolutely nothing that makes sense in it.

Character definition is weak-to-absent, the plot is pointless, and writing is generally horrible. Some reviewers even lament the fate of the ghostwriters who had to work on it because they imagine that whatever Kendall and Kylie came up with must have been infinitely worse if this is the best they could come up from it.

The consensus so far is that reading “Rebels: City of Indra: The Story of Lex and Livia” doesn’t equate to experiencing “a gripping tale of air, fire, and a bond of blood,” as the publishers promise because all that’s left at the end is the unmistakable aftertaste of regret: regret at having wasted time on such a “piece of garbage” and regret at having spent the money on it.

At least Kendall and Kylie still have their game face on in this interview, so we’re going to venture a guess they still hadn’t read the reviews when they filmed it.
